Presentation
The Working Group in Theoretical Ecology is an atelier composed by
teaching staff and students at the University of Urbino "Carlo Bo", in close
contact with other italian and foreign instituitions.
The group aims to build up a theoretical connection between
environment-related disciplines and different ecological branches, through
publishing of scientific papers and textbooks, promotion of conferences,
symposia and master classes.
The research threads are centered around the issues related to the
perception of environmental contexts in an evolutionary perspective.
Perception is fundamental in understanding the concept of landscape, and the
modes of interaction between the latter and organisms and processes.
Moreover, in line with its mission, the group offers support in setting up
innovative projects for BSc, MSc and PhD dissertations, also to students
from other universities.
The path of theoretical research includes cognitive ecology, eco-semiotics,
environmental psychology, ecological economics, eco-anthropology. |
