NON-EU CITIZENS RESIDENT OUTSIDE ITALY

Three-Year Undergraduate Degree Courses, Single-Cycle Magistrale - Five-Year Undergraduate Degree Courses, Magistrale - Two-Year Postgraduate Degree Courses

Students holding an educational qualification of equivalent level to that described in the "requirements and documentation" section must submit a pre-registration application, within the timescales established by the Ministerial orders (see: www.miur.it>università>studenti>studenti stranieri), directly to the Italian diplomatic or consular mission in their country of residence. For the 2013/2014 academic year, the deadline is: form 21 March to 21 June 2013. The pre-registration application must be submitted for a single course of study only.

Masters and Advanced courses

Candidates holding an academic qualification which is equivalent in content and duration to the Italian academic qualification required for admission to the selected course – as indicated in the course prospectus – can submit their registration application to the Italian diplomatic or consular mission competent for their territory within the timescales published in the relevant course prospectus.

Individual courses

Students wishing to attend one or more individual courses or “internships” can register by applying via the Italian diplomatic or consular mission competent for their territory, within 24 August 2013 for courses taking place in the first semester, and within 28 December 2013 for courses held in the second semester.

Italian language test

Students submitting a pre-registration application for any degree course must take an Italian language test .For the academic year 2013/2014, this test will be held on 3 September 2013.

For courses with limited numbers, the deadlines for admission and for any selection test are as established in the relevant prospectuses. The individual entrance examinations will act both as a test of candidates’ Italian language ability and as an admission test for the purposes of allocating the places earmarked for non-EU students resident outside Italy.

Exemption from the Italian language test

The following students are exempted from the Italian language test, and are admitted independently of the number of places reserved; for single-cycle Magistrale - five-year undergraduate degree courses:

  1. students holding a four- or five-year second level secondary education diploma achieved at Italian schools abroad;
  2. students holding supplementary certificates to the final secondary school certificate in Argentina, confirming attendance of a course of studies including at least 5 years’ Italian language tuition.
  3. Students who have been awarded a diploma in Italian language and culture by the Universities for Foreigners at Perugia or Siena, following a course of at least 1 academic year’s duration;
  4. Students who have obtained certificates of competence in the Italian language, at an equivalent standard to Council of Europe levels C1 and C2, from Roma Tre University, the Universities for Foreigners at Perugia or Siena, the legally recognised non-state “Dante Alighieri” University for Foreigners at Reggio Calabria and the “Dante Alighieri” Society, including by arrangement with the Italian Cultural Institutes abroad or other bodies, or declarations of attendance issued by other universities with established courses, including those involving other educational institutions or local and regional government bodies.
  5. CLIQ - Quality Italian Language Certification (Certification of Quality Italian Language).

For admission to Magistrale - two-year postgraduate degree courses: students in possession of the qualifications indicated in points 3, 4 and 5 above. The following, whilst exempted from the Italian language test, are still subject to the limit on the specific number of places reserved for foreign citizens resident outside Italy:

  1. students who have obtained the certificates of competence in the Italian language, at standards not less than Council of Europe level B2, from Roma Tre University, the Universities for Foreigners at Perugia or Siena, from the legally recognised non-state “Dante Alighieri” University for Foreigners at Reggio Calabria and from the “Dante Alighieri” Society, including by arrangement with the Italian Cultural Institutes abroad or other bodies, or declarations of attendance issued by other universities with established courses, including those involving other educational institutions, or local and regional government bodies
  2. CLIQ - Quality Italian Language Certification (Certification of Quality Italian Language).

According to the independent decision of each University, the following students can be exempted from the Italian language test but still subject to limits on the specific number of places reserved for foreign citizens resident outside Italy.

  1. Students who have obtained certificates of attendance for courses established by other Universities - also by agreement with other education institutions, local bodies and Regions. Otherwise, certificates of language test or certificates proving an appropriate knowledge of the Italian language awarded for entry VISA application by the University for Foreigners of Perugia and Siena, Roma Tre University, the legally recognized non-state ‘Dante Alighieri’ University for Foreigners at Reggio Calabria and by the ‘Dante Alighieri’ Society.
  2. Students who have obtained the certificates proving an appropriate knowledge of the Italian language, awarded for entry VISA application by the University for Foreigners of Perugia and Siena, Roma Tre University, the legally recognized non-state ‘Dante Alighieri’ University for Foreigners at Reggio Calabria and by the ‘Dante Alighieri’ Society.
  3. CLIQ – Quality Italian Language Certification (Certification of Quality Italian Language)

EU AND NON-EU CITIZENS LEGALLY SETTLED IN ITALY; ITALIAN CITIZENS WITH FOREIGN EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Three-Year Undergraduate Degree Courses, Single-Cycle Magistrale - Five-Year Undergraduate Degree Courses, Magistrale - Two-Year Postgraduate Degree Courses

Students in possession of a secondary school diploma, achieved after at least 12 years’ school education, or an educational qualification awarded abroad by a University or tertiary Institute of further education, may apply for registration within the timescales specified in the Study Prospectus (see: www.uniurb.it>studenti>immatricolazioni e iscrizioni) to the International Students Office at: Ufficio Alta Formazione Post Laurea, Università di Urbino Carlo Bo - via Saffi n. 2, tel: +39 0722 305250, fax: +39 0722 305287, e-mail: studentistranieri@uniurb.it, attaching the necessary documentation. See the section "Requirements and documentation" under "single-cycle Magistrale - five-year undergraduate degree courses" and "Magistrale - two-year postgraduate degree courses".

Students wishing to attend one or more individual courses or “internships” can register within the timescales specified in the Study Prospectus (see: www.uniurb.it> studenti>immatricolazioni e iscrizioni). Applications must be submitted to the Registrar's Office (Segreterie Studenti) www.uniurb.it/segreterie - attaching the documentation requested. See the “Requirements and documentation” section, under “Individual Courses”.

The option of online registration is not offered to holders of foreign qualifications.
