o Born in Siena on 09/11/1965
· Laurea in International History (June 1990) at the Faculty of
Political Science "C. Alfieri" in Florence. Title: La Gran Bretagna
e il processo di integrazione europea dal 1955 al 1958, (Great Britain
and the European Integration Process from 1955 to 1958; Supervisor Prof.
Ennio Di Nolfo, 110 e lode/110).
· PhD in International History (1995) at the Faculty of Political
Science in Florence with a thesis titled: Gli Stati Uniti alla ricerca
di un valido interlocutore politico e sindacale nella lotta contro il
comunismo in Italia dal 1947 al 1955. ( The United States looking for
a worthwhile political and labour interlocutor in the fight against Communism
in Italy from 1947 to 1955 Supervisor: Prof. Ennio Di Nolfo).
· Fellowship awarded by the University of Padua to make a research
at the International Institute of Social History in Amsterdam working
on the documents of the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions
(ICFTU) December 1995- May 1996.
· NATO-CNR Senior Fellowship (Program 1996) to make a research
at the George Meany Memorial Archives, Maryland (USA) working on the documents
of the American trade unions AFL-CIO- July-August 1997.

o Seminars at the Faculty of Political Science in Florence in the academic
Years 2000-2001; 2001-2002, in the course of North America History. The
Course deals with "American Foreign Policy from 1945 to 2000".
· Seminars at the University of Urbino on "Euro-American Relations
during the Sixties" in the Academic Years 2000-2001 and 2001-2002.
Research Projects
o Research Project on "Sviluppo sociale e l'attività di assistenza
nell'Italia del dopoguerra: l'Amministrazione degli Aiuti Internazionali
(1947-1962)" (Social Development and Assistance in postwar Italy:
the case of Amministrazione degli Aiuti Internazionali (1947-1962), coordinated
by the Fondazione Giulio Pastore in Rome. Research focussed on: I rapporti
dell'AAI con l'IRO l'assistenza ai profughi in Italia (1947-1956) (The
relationship between AAI and IRO and the question of political refugees
in Italy (1947-1956)
o Research Project in Oral History financed by the European Commission
and coordinated by the Jean Monnet Chairs for 1997. Interviews to Italian
political and labour leaders who played a role in the European Integration
Process (Dionigi Coppo, Aride Rossi, Carlo Scarascia Mugnozza). In Italy
the project was coordinated by Prof. Maria Grazia Melchionni, Jean Monnet
Chair at the Università "La Sapienza" in Rome.
oResearch Project financed by MURST (ex 40%) for 1997-1999 coordinated
by Prof. Ennio Di Nolfo of the University of Political Science in Florence
dealing with Italian Foreign Policy after World War II. Research Focussed
on the role played by propaganda in Italian Foreign Policy after World
War II.
oReserach Project financed by MURST (ex 40%) for 1999-2001 and coordinated
by Prof. Ennio Di Nolfo of the University of Political Science in Florence
dealing with the role played by raw materials in the international system.
Research focussed on "The role played by water in the International
System".
· Research Project financed by MURST (ex 40%) for 2000-2002 coordinated
by Prof. Renato Moro of the Faculty of Political Science Roma III on Foreign
Policy, Culture and Public Opinion in Italy. Research focussed on Italy,
the United States and the European Community in the second half of the
Sixties.
· Research Project financed by Istituto Luigi Sturzo for 2001 on
Italy and the European Integration Process, coordinated by prof. Pierluigi
Ballini and Prof. Antonio Varsori of the University of Florence. Research
focussed on "Italian Trade Unions Attitude towards the European Integration
Process in the Seventies".
