Learning Objectives

The Degree Program aims to train the professional figure of the "Basic Kinesiologist," whose profile is suited to the planning, implementation, management, and evaluation of movement-based activities with health-promoting, recreational, and educational purposes.
The educational pathway offers a progressive increase in subject-specific content from the first to the third year, with a gradual transition from a theoretical educational approach to a practical one, reflecting the functions and responsibilities of a Basic Kinesiologist.
The program provides a multidisciplinary education that enables students to master the core content of the discipline and to interact appropriately, effectively, and safely with users, colleagues, and other stakeholders, depending on the specific professional context.
The Degree Program opens up career opportunities in both the public and private sectors, within health, recreational, and educational fields. It also provides the foundational requirements needed to successfully pursue Master's Degree Programs in Preventive and Adapted Physical Activity Sciences and Techniques (Class LM-67), in Sports Sciences (Class LM-68), and in Organization and Management of Services for Sports and Physical Activities (Class LM-47).

Sport, Health and Physical Exercise (L-22 R)

The professional practice of the Basic Kinesiologist (Legislative Decree No. 36 of February 28, 2021, Article 41) includes:
a) The implementation, management, and evaluation of individual and group physical activities with compensatory, educational, recreational, and sports-oriented purposes, aimed at maintaining and restoring optimal physical well-being across all age groups, through the promotion of active lifestyles.
b) The implementation, management, and evaluation of activities aimed at improving quality of life through physical exercise, as well as personal training and non-competitive athletic preparation.
The professional fields in which the Basic Kinesiologist may operate include:
- Health and Wellness: preventive, compensatory, rehabilitative, and postural physical activity, aimed at promoting an active lifestyle.
- Recreational: training focused on introducing individuals to physical and sports activities or improving physical fitness and sports performance.
- Educational: physical and sports activities designed to develop motor skills and physical abilities in children, adolescents, and young adults, and to maintain them in adults and the elderly.
These activities can be carried out in public and private facilities, within sports organizations and recreational or social associations, as well as in retirement homes and wellness centers.

The Degree Program is structured over three years and includes the acquisition of 180 ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System), which are required for graduation.
The courses that make up the study plan are largely composed of multiple modules, each of which may deliver theoretical content, theoretical-practical content, or fully practical content, depending on the nature of the course.
A significant number of practical hours are offered through courses categorized as “laboratories” and “practical sessions.” These, combined with “internships and traineeships,” enable students to develop skills rooted in direct experience and embodied knowledge—what can be described as learning through “knowing how to do.”
Specifically, in regard to internships and traineeships, thanks to numerous agreements established with companies and sector-specific organizations across the country, students have the opportunity to train and gain hands-on experience in the very settings where they may one day pursue their careers.

  • In-depth seminars on specific course topics will be offered

  • Students can enrich their education through the Erasmus experience

  • A tutoring service is available to support students
