The aim of this course is to provide insights and basic knowledge on Mechanics and Electromagnetism.

Knowledge and understanding

Students should be able to understand and solve problems of mechanics and thermodynamics of the proper level of difficulty following from the number of teaching hours.

Applying knowledge and understanding

Students should solve simple circuits from electromagnetism study

Communication skills

It will be required to the students  to use a proper language for this discipline

Although recommended, the course attendance is not mandatory.

Assessment

Written and oral exams.

The written exam consists of three problems on different parts of the program. To each problem is assigned a maximum numerical value of ten, for a maximum of 30. The duration of the written test is two hours. It is passed if the mark (which remains valid one year) is not less than 18/30. In case of positive result of the written test, the oral exam (which can be taken only if the written exam is passed) consists of not less than three questions randomly extracted from the program. To each question is assigned a maximum numerical value of of 10, for a maximum of 30.  The oral test can be considered passed if the mark is 18/30 or more. The final mark is determined by the weighted mean of the marks of the written exam and the oral exam, with weights of 1/3 and 2/3, respectively.
