The aim of the course is to provide students with an adequate knowledge about human morphology particularly referred to the apparatus mainly involved in nutrition processes.

1) Histology: lining and glandular epithelia, properly so called and supporting connective tissue , muscle tissue, blood, immune system and lymphoid organs, nervous tissue

2) Anatomy: covering and glandular epithelia, connective tissues, muscolar tissue, blood, immune system and related lymphoid organs. 2) Circulatory system: heart structure, major blood vessels and their major branches in the systemic and pulmonary circulation. Portal circulation. Lymphatic circulation and its involvement in the enteric function. 3) Respiratory system: structure of the bronchial tree and lungs. 4) Digestive system: detailed structural organisation of the different stations as well as the liver-pancreatic organ.  5) the kidney: nephron and iuhtaglomerula apparatus. 6) endocrine system: hypophysis, thyroid, parathyroid and suprarenal glands, Gonads. Cortex, neural centers and their pathways

Cell Biology

The student must show mastery of knowledge regarding: the organization of tissues and anatomical bases necessary for a proper understanding of the functioning of the human body with special attention to the phenomena related to nutrition and to the growth of the organism.

The student must show an understanding of the basics of functioning of organs and systems by identifying their principal role in the maintenance of the organism.

The student must show possession of the ability to use the knowledge gained by demonstrating to reason according to the specific logic of the discipline. Must be able to identify the functional correlations between multiple organs looked forward some hypotheses of dietary implications.

The student must demonstrate to be able to relate, in a precise and exhaustive way, his / her own knowledge to people already competent in the subject, as well as to demonstrate synthesis skills and to know how to communicate in order to make the topics of the subject accessible to a wider public. always and in any case with an adequate and precise terminology.

Assessment

-The assessment of profit is aimed at verifying the level of knowledge of the topics covered in the course and the ability to reason that highlights the ability to connect structure and function in the different biological components of the Organism. The verification of the level of learning may be carried out during the course of the lectures using also a series of multiple-choice tests inherent to the topics covered in the previous lectures (knowledge verification test, which can be used for the purpose of the examination).

The final examination consists of an oral interview of approximately 20 minutes on the various topics covered in the course, covering the parts of the program not yet passed (Histology and Anatomy for the second module), to ascertain what level of knowledge the student has achieved relative to the previously stated educational objectives. Answers are judged on subject knowledge, expository ability and language used as correct and appropriate scientific terminology, and serve to assess the student's ability to reason and synthesize. Special attention will be paid to students with Specific Learning Disorder

The final grade will result from the average of the marks obtained in the two modules (Animal Biology and Human Anatomy) for the total of 12 CFU. The module grade will remain valid for the duration of one academic year taking into account the session in which it was earned. 

-The grade is expressed in thirtieths (minimum grade 18) consisting of the average of the marks obtained in the different tests and oral exams..
