Learning Objectives
This seminar offers PhD candidates practical tools and strategies to communicate their research effectively within and beyond academic circles. The seminar will begin with an critical overview of the evolving landscape of academic communication, considering trends such as scientific digital creators and academic self-branding on social media. It will then focus on practical advice and best practices for oral presentation, public writing, and the use of social media in research dissemination. Through examples, tips, and short in-class exercises, participants will be encouraged to reflect on how to bring their research “on stage” in public and interdisciplinary contexts, developing a communication style that is clear, engaging, and audience-aware.
