The University of Urbino Carlo Bo joined in the University Corridors for Refugee Students Project UNICORE 5.0 along with other Italian Universities. The project is promoted by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and counts on the direct involvement of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Caritas Italiana, Diaconia Valdese, Centro Astalli, Gandhi Charity along with the participation of other local institutions and authorities. 

The project aims to promote and strengthen a legal and safe entry channel to facilitate the access of refugees to higher education in Italy. It will also promote their social integration and active participation in the academic life.

The University of Urbino offers 2 scholarships to refugee students residing in:

Niger

Nigeria

South Africa

Zambia

Zimbabwe

Kenya

Uganda 

and participating in the call for applications for 2023/2024 academic year. Students holding a higher education qualification suitable for the admission to the following master's degree programmes and meeting all the requirements are eligible:

Documents required:

Mandatory
  • A copy of the currently valid Refugee Identity card issued in collaboration with UNHCR
  • A certificate confirming the qualification required for admission to the chosen degree programme
  • Transcript of exams passed and relative marks
  • Curriculum Vitae 
Not Mandatory
  • A motivation letter (maximum two A4 pages)
  • Letter/s of references written by supervisor/advisor supporting the application
