Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

D1- KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
The student must be able to illustrate the principles of Hygiene general, the factors that affect the health of individuals and communities, sanitation standards and methods of prevention in order to understand and identify the activities of prevention and health promotion .
D2 -APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
The student will apply his knowledge to measure and quantify pathological events and risk factors, and those factors that have a positive and protective effect on health. The knowledge gained will also aim to enable the performance of the role of health educator with the public, in particular as regards the information on the application of the methods of primary prevention.

D3-MAKING JUDGMENTS
The student must be able to critically analyze the content of all methodologies for the prevention of diseases of various kinds, showing the ability to interpret the results of epidemiological studies and to be able to propose appropriate preventive interventions.

D4-COMMUNICATION SKILL
The student will be able to express themselves clearly and with appropriate terms and will communicate the message of education and health promotion clearly and correctly so that this message gets internalized to be an engine of change.

D5-LEARNING SKILLS
The student will be able to build its growth paths and scientific knowledge critically and independently, being able to properly use the available databases.

Teaching Material

The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it

Teaching, Attendance, Course Books and Assessment

Teaching

The educational tools used for the development of such knowledge are represented by lectures and seminars on topics agreed with students.

Course books

-Barbuti, Bellelli et al.: Igiene e Medicina preventiva (volumi I e II ultima edizione), Monduzzi editore, Bologna
-Meloni, Pellissero: Igiene, Casa editrice Ambrosiana, Milano

Assessment

The final exam will be oral and will aim to test the knowledge acquired; It will be assessed also the ability to relate the various topics of the course (descriptors 1 and 2), communication skills (descriptor 4) and the ability to solve practical problems (3 and 5).

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
