Learning Objectives

the main object is to provide critical tools and theoretical skills and practical-descriptive to interpret the processes and transformations related to new technologies, placing themselves in a subject area, characterized by the convergence of multiple disciplinary perspectives.

Starting from the definition of the object of study, the course will focus on the main topics on new technologies. Particular attention will be paid to the deepening of the essential concepts and crucial phenomena.

Bridging Courses

During the course it will also be given space to the importance of technological knowledge and tools available to the analyst, in an integrated perspective. Students at the end of the course, will be able to apply what they learn in class and, especially, to play profitably changes affecting new technology policy, analyzing the information and building will have useful interpretative models.

The course aims to provide conceptual tools and analytical review the socio-cultural changes introduced by new technologies.
In particular how new technologies transform the interactions and the same tools and channels of communication.

Articulation
The course consists of two separate modules: a first largest (26 hours), largely theoretically based and organized on lessons in presence, which will be outlined the main trends and recent landings; a second shortest (10 hours), workshop / seminar, aimed at creating ad hoc research on different aspects and dynamics of the new technologies

Knowledge and understanding
Knowing the main theories in the field of analytical studies on the relationship between man and machine. To gain the knowledge and expertise on key issues connected with new technologies.
Knowing the paradigms, schools of thought and concepts about. the main authors
Gain knowledge and understanding of the key factors related to the relationship between human beings and new technologies.

Applying knowledge and understanding
Through reflection on specific case studies, the course aims to develop knowledge and ability to apply understanding. Students should know how to use what they learned in class and be able to interpret profitably changes affecting social dynamics, analyzing the information and building will have interpretive models useful to understand the dynamics of change affecting the new technologies.

Making judgments
Increase the capacity to process judgments that compared to general themes treated and with reference to the operational impacts of the knowledge learned. Students will be able, thanks to the constant references to the knowledge acquired during the entire course of study, to proceed with a critical approach, essential to interpret the information available in full autonomy.

Communication skills
Acquire the skills necessary to deal with other professionals on the issues of new technologies. Acquire adequate skills needed to present experimental data and bibliographic. Increase the skills essential to transmit and disseminate information on the topics covered adequately.
Students should also show presentation skills, what has been learned in class, using a specific language, your own judgment and conclusions also critically.

Learning ability
Learning the basics of the framework for a subsequent application in the field of work. Acquiring the ability to consult databases, journals and use innovative techniques and basic cognitive tools for continuous updating of knowledge.
