Learning Objectives
The course aims to provide knowledge on the internationalization process of firms, about which assumptions and conditions, criteria, strategic and operational choices are analyzed. In particular, strategic and organizational issues related to the selection of foreign countries, the choice of mode of entry and distribution channels, channel relationships at the international level will be deepened. The course also deals with the criteria for a strategic approach to international business planning. Particular attention is directed to the conditions of development of internationalization strategies of small and medium-sized enterprises.

• The evolution of international trade: trends and general scenario of international trade.
• The position of Italian firms in the global competitive environment.
• Internationalization: theories and models for international business development.
• The selection of foreign markets.
• Criteria for the choice of the entry mode.
• The business development planning in foreign markets: budgeting and controlling systems.
