Learning Objectives
This is an introductory course on the principles of European legal systems, starting from their Roman foundations. It is divided into two modules, one dealing with the principles of private Roman law and the other one comparing, from an historical point of view, the real property in common law and civil law.
Program
The cours eis divided into two modules. The first one (Roman private law, 45 hours) regards:
1. Introduction to the Roman roots of the European legal systems. Legal science. Legal interpretation. Roman law and its sources.
2. Litigations
3. Legal acts
4. Persons
5. Things
6. Obligations
7. Inheritance law.
The second module (Historical-legal comparison, 15 hours) is dedicated to Roman, medieval and modern solutions regarding real rights and transfer of ownership.
Teaching Material
The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it

Oral examination.
- Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
