Learning Objectives
In addition to addressing the historical theme of South Tyrol through the chronicles of a writer such as Sebastiano Vassalli, the course will deal with the work of a German-speaking native poet who has compiled verses both in Italian and in German, In order to have a specific knowledge of this reality still unknown in the cultural landscape of our country.
Program
Through the work of Gerhard Kofler Das Universum der kostbaren Minuten / L'universo dei minuti preziosi the mixture of South Tyrolean culture with the Italian element comes to its most highly symbolic form.
The poems of this author, contained in the first volume of the collection "Das Gedächtnis der Wellen / La memoria delle onde" will be treated together the varied chapters of Vassalli's book.
An additional 12-hour didactic support course on Goethean aesthetics will be held by Prof. Luca Cesari, whose content will be an integral part of the exam program.

- Understanding and critical skills to analyze aspects, historical and cultural events, placing them within a cultural overview of the historical development and their sociological and social repercussions.
- Skills of applying knowledge and understanding: the student will have the cultural and literary skills to the description and analysis of German culture.

- Assessment
Oral examination. Attending students may use a term paper, to be carried out in groups, according to the criteria described by the teacher, which will integrate the final grade. Non-attending students are required to follow the syllabus as provided by the handbook.

Notes
Part of the course will be taught in German. The students can request to sit the final exam in German with an alternative bibliography.
