This course is entirely taught in Italian. Study materials can be provided in the foreign language and the final exam can be taken in the foreign language.

Learning Objectives

Students will have a direct knowledge of Anglo-American culture from a geo-historical perspective, through the protagonists and the main movements of literature, cinema, and politics.

Program

Migration, colonization,  transplantation, terraforming are just some of the key-words we shall meet on our way. The program focuses on the meanings of frontier and borders, with many links to nowadays. We shall have some guests who will speak on Jarmusch's cinema (Andrea Chimento), sci-fi (Andrea Laquidara) and Donald Trump (Marco Morini). Urbinoir yearly meeting will offer the opportunity to study the frontiers of criminology.

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
