Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

The student will show mastery in basic knowledge of molecular genetics, cytogenetics, familial pedigrees, patterns of disease transmission, pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine.

The student will demonstrate understanding of concepts and theories provided by the course; students will provide examples of genetic diseases (biological, clinical, hereditary, and analytical skills); they will be able to analyze familial pedigrees, identifying patterns of transmission, recurrence risks, available tests.

The student will show the ability to use knowledge and concepts that allow to apply logic of the discipline. In particular, students have to be able to identify appropriate personalized medicine strategies in order to administer pharmacogenetic tests; they will simulate the design of diagnostic pathways; they will be able to propose possible solutions to problematic cases.

Teaching Material

The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it

Supporting Activities

Assessment

Oral exam

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
