Learning Objectives

The course aims to provide study materials for and to reflect on the linguistic categories and juridical terminology that represent, in general, the basis of legal language and, in particular, the Spanish legal language. With this in mind, exercises will be scheduled during the course to understand both written and spoken Spanish legal language. This course will be aided by the analysis of legal documents, with particular attention to sentence structure, and the discussion thereof.

2. El lenguaje jurídico y los lenguajes de especialidad
3. La fraseología
4. El corpus lingüistico
5. Ejemplo de lenguaje anti jurídico 

6. El lenguaje de los Derechos Humanos

Bridging Courses

All students must pass Lingua Spagnola Idoneità for Law Students that is Spanish Language Pass/Fail held at the CLA (Centro Linguistic d'Ateneo) before they can access the Spanish Legal Language Exam.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

Knowledge and understanding: at the end of the course, the student must have acquired the basic knowledge of Spanish legal language.

Applying knowledge and understanding: the student must demonstrate to be able to apply methodologies, structures and vocabulary learnt during the course and to be able to understand and to analyze a legal text in Spanish language.

Making judgements: the student must be able the knowledge and face different dynamics making their own judgements. 

Communication skills: the student must demonstrate to be able to argue what learnt during the course.

Learning skills: the student must be able to study independently; to understand a Spanish legal text; and to constantly update their knowledge and skills.

Teaching Material

The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it

Teaching

However there is no obligation to attend , it is recommended strongly participating in the lessons. During the course, the lessons will be accompanied by practical exercises aimed at understanding legal documents in Spanish.

Assessment

All students must pass Lingua Spagnola Idoneità for Law Students that is Spanish Language Pass/Fail held at the CLA (Centro Linguistic d'Ateneo) before they can access the Spanish Legal Language Exam.

The students must pass an oral exam. 

In the oral exam the student will answer some questions related to the topics as indicated in the program.
The expected learning results will be evaluated by means of an oral exam.

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
