Learning Objectives
The course aims to provide students with the basic knowledge of Molecular Biology and to provide a cellular and molecular vision of modern innovative therapies, trying to deepen the methodologies used for the treatment of genetic diseases and disabling pathologies. Furthermore, the program will mention the modern techniques of anticancer immunotherapy.
Program
Gene therapies • What is gene therapy • Vectors used for gene therapy • Cancer immunotherapy a (DNA vaccination and phage vaccination) • Vaccines against infectious diseases (example of the creation of a sars-cov2 vaccine against multiple variants) • Car-T how they are obtained and their applications • Crisp/Cas9 system • Pre-clinical experimental cellular and animal models • Cellular Therapies • Totipotent, pluripotent and multipotent stem cells • Induced stem cells • How to obtain an organoid • Organoids as potential models for testing new biological and non-biological drugs
