Learning Objectives
Over the course of the academic year, students will work toward a C1-C2 language proficiency level
Oral Interaction C1
I can express myself fluently and spontaneously without having to look too hard for words. I can use language flexibly and effectively in social and professional relationships. I can formulate ideas and opinions accurately and skillfully connect my utterances with those of other interlocutors.
Oral Production C1
I can present clear and articulate descriptions of complex topics, integrating subtopics, developing specific points and concluding appropriately.
Oral Interaction C2
I can participate effortlessly in any conversation and discussion and am familiar with idiomatic and colloquial expressions. I can express myself fluently and accurately render subtle nuances of meaning. In cases of difficulty, I can return to the speech and rephrase it so fluently that hardly anyone notices.
Oral Production C2
I can present clear, fluent descriptions or arguments in a style appropriate to the context and with an effective logical structure that can help the recipient identify the salient points to be remembered. of the listener on the most important points and adapt my language to the style of the moment and that of the listener.
Program
According to the CEFR guidelines, oral expression, or oral production, is an issuer-recipient relationship accompanied by oral production in a given communication context.
Each oral expression begins with ideas in the form of information, different opinions or feelings, with objectives that vary according to the learner's age, role and social status; and must have a structure that develops logically, with concrete examples and relevant and clear conclusions.
The oral message, which is immediate, produces effects on its listener; everything is accompanied by gestures, gaze, mimicry, and the speaker's voice. Oral expression can therefore include the nonverbal (in the form of gestures, signs, smiles, and various gestural expressions adapted to the communicative situation), the voice (volume, articulation of sounds, speed of voice or intonation so that communication is expressive), pauses, silences, and glances (to check the level of understanding of the verbal message) of the learner and his or her teacher.
The course puts the focus on oral communication through an intensive and interactive approach, with the aim of honing students' language skills, enhancing their ability to express themselves clearly, persuasively and professionally in French.
The curriculum is structured to develop discussion, presentation and negotiation skills, addressing cultural and linguistic issues relevant to various professional fields. Students will explore effective communication techniques through practical simulations and group activities, with the goal of achieving a high degree of mastery of technical and specialized language.
General Objectives.
