Learning Objectives
The objective of the course is to introduce the student to the fundamentals of epigenetics and to their interactions with food. Attention will be pointed to the tecniques used in chroamtin studies and in the evaluation of gene expression variations. During the course, examples of application of these techniques to the study of the effects mediated by nutrition in pathologies and aging will be analyzed.
Program
- Chromatin and histone code
- Chromatin techniques
- Development of new technologies for the study of chromatin in FFPE tissues
- Examples of application of chromatin techniques to the study of the effects of diet and aging

Applying knowledge and understanding - Ability to recognize and apply the cognitive tools and the rigorous approach of chromatin techniques.
Independence of judgment - Being able to learn and independently evaluate the results of investigations directed to the study of the interactions between epigenetics and nutrition.
Communicative skills- Ability to explain, in a simple, immediate and exhaustive manner the acquired knowledge and possible applications.
Learning ability - Upgrade capabilities through consultation of the scientific literature related to the discipline.
