Learning Objectives
The student will be introduced - by means of an interdisciplinary approach - to the principles of the European legal systems, starting from their Roman foundations. He will be made familiar with the historical devolopment of some ideologies, institutes and interpretion techniques which became part of a language shared by all European jurists.
Program
This is an introductory course on the principles of European legal systems. It is divided into two modules, one dealing with the principles of public and private Roman law and the other one with the main European legal systems. It includes an elementary comparison between civil and common law.

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
Notes
The student can request to sit the final exam in English or in French with an alternative bibliography.
