Learning Objectives
The urban sociology course has a two main learning objectives.
1) It provides the conceptual and scientific bases to analyze urban phenomena;
2) it analyzes the contribution that the classics of the urban sociological thought have given to the discipline.
Students may participate into some case studies.
Program
The course is divided into two parts.
1) In the first part of the course, the boundaries of the discipline are outlined, highlighting the main approaches to the study of the urban phenomenon and identifying its analytical dimensions
2) The second part of the course illustrates the concept of urban governance and urban policies
Teaching Material
The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it

Students have the possibility to agree on a further course book.
- Assessment
Oral exam.
- Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.
To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
