Learning Objectives

The Course is divided into two parts (in parallel teaching):

1 - theoretical (sport activities update research);

2 - theoretical and practicing yoga class

1 - This part of the Course' goal is to build the student's competence for a critical analysis of the scientific research methodologies of problem solving, applied on sport activities. To reach this objective these are the main matters:

a) the different basic research methodologies steps;

b) the foundation of statistics;

c) the choice of the variables;

d) the test administration;

e) the assessment results and the related discussion

2 - The 2nd part is pointed to understand the human postural strategies, the input and feed-back signals used by our adjustment systems in dynamic and static balance. This way, the tests and measures are addressed in theoretical and practical sides. The practice is centred on "Core Stability" training, proprioceptive system improving techniques and the role of oneself awareness.

Yoga pratice is the best activity by which is possible a "movement scanning" a human posture through a training on the field and to improve the oneself awareness

Program

The Course Program consists in:

1 -  theoretical lessons treating matters such as:

how in the scientific research is built an article;

how to interpret the different statistical data chosen by the researchers;

 2 -  practical developments that apply training basic principles. The Training Theoretical Adaptation and tests to improve oneself posture and "Core stability" are treated.

Yoga practice Principles are debated related to different training stimuli which are applied in different levels of expertise.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

At the Course end, the student must have:

1.    "knowledge and understanding" such as:

 how to use the scientific international literature, how an article is organized in its different paragraphs. How to recognize and to evaluate the wrong/right posture in the practice and how to correct it. Propioception exercises and core stability tests

2.  "applying knowledge and understanding", such as:

develop a critical view of the article arguments and data, and compare the different results in comparable scientific works. Be able to build a correct training pointed to human posture system control

3.  "making judgements" and "communication skills", such as:

by writing, "in progress",  a complete postural analysis of a peer/subject,  adding an oral presentation to the class.

4.  "learning skills",  building all the previous steps, the student highlight his capacities in learning and linking different matter in his study autonomy,

Teaching Material

The teaching material prepared by the lecturer in addition to recommended textbooks (such as for instance slides, lecture notes, exercises, bibliography) and communications from the lecturer specific to the course can be found inside the Moodle platform › blended.uniurb.it

Supporting Activities

Lecture notes (Statistics and postural arguments) and update scientific articles

Teaching, Attendance, Course Books and Assessment

Teaching

Please be prompt to set the Moodle Platform (Blended Learning) to be used in any comunication between teacher and student

Attendance

Not compulsory

Assessment

The final assessment concerns: 1) "in progress" test, and 2) final tests:

·"in progress" test: a written non-structured test (a brief essay to explain the student acknowledgments on training program system debated in the Course), the score assessment is done by:

 - 15 points for "knowledge and understanding"

- 10 points for "applying knowledge and understanding" such as competences

- 5  points   for   "communication skills" (by multi media and oral strategies)

· Course end: a structured test (25 closed questions = 1 point each one) and a semi-structured test (2 questions asking opened answers= 2,5 points each one). It can be followed by an oral test
