Learning Objectives

The course aims to offer students the fundamental theoretical concepts related to playful and creative-expressive activities in the different pedagogical-educational contexts of childhood.

Program

Specifically, the following topics will be dealt with: play in childhood, with its theories and educational scenarios; creative processes according to the most recent pedagogical paradigms; graphic-managerial activities in their possible expressions during the different evolutionary phases of childhood, which in particular are reducible to doodling, spontaneous drawing and handwriting.

Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

In relation to the discipline, the student must show possession:

- mastery of basic knowledge:

- Students will be able to acquire theoretical and methodological knowledge of the main themes related to the educational theories on play, child drawing and creative processes.

- Multiple tools for observation and data collection (video-recorded observation, descriptive observation, grids, etc.) on the child's expressive experiences will be presented, discovering characteristics, strengths and critical points.

- During the lessons students will learn about some educational issues related to learning contexts. In particular, the environments most likely to favour the dynamics of play and graphic gesture will be analysed as educational and self-training tools, which together can be considered natural creative-constructive expressions of the child.

- of understanding the fundamental concepts of the discipline:

- During the course, students will have the opportunity to choose and compare the different tools for observation and data collection in relation to the topics covered by the course.

- Students will be able to analyse some structured models of scientific observation and then relate them to research and different cognitive and explanatory paradigms.

- the ability to use knowledge and concepts to reason according to the logic of the discipline:

- During the course, research projects will be proposed on themes chosen by the students and which have been analysed during the lessons (play, graphic gesture, creativity in education, etc.), in order to promote the autonomous and active elaboration of the contents dealt with theoretically.

- In this way the students will be able to confront empirically on some important questions about the relationship between the complexity of educational phenomena and the different possible creative-expressive means of the child.
