Learning Objectives

The course aims to study Legal English, through the reading and listening of text/audio in their original language, alongside the study of the main morphosyntactic structures of English language in order to improve oral and written comprehension skills. It is required a B1 English Level according to the Common European Framework for foreign languages. At the end of the course students should be able to use major English grammatical structures, have a competent knowledge of English language and vocabulary used in specific legal contexts, read and listen specific materials and be able to analyse them in detail.

Program

The course aims to study Legal English, through the reading and listening of text/audio in their original language, alongside the study of the main morphosyntactic structures of English language: Present Simple, Present Continuous, Past Simple, Past Continuous, Modal Verbs, The future tense, The comparative, The superlative form, Present Perfect, Present Perfect Continuous, The Conditionals, Reported Speech, Vocabulary. The course includes the reading, the analysis and the translation of passages in their original language.

Bridging Courses

It is required a B1 English Level according to the Common European Frameword for foreign languages.

-  Learn the specific scientific vocabulary

-  Identify the most relevant topics addressed during lessons.
