Learning Achievements (Dublin Descriptors)

Knowledge and understanding. At the end of the module, students should have assimilated the basic knowledge of environmental assessments, including the procedural and technical aspects of the various phases.

Ability to apply knowledge and understanding. Students should be able to use the concepts learned in practical cases of environmental assessment. In particular, they should be able to identify the elements to be developed in an environmental impact study.

Autonomy of judgement. Students must have the basics to critically approach the analysis of environmental impacts, also using knowledge and skills gained in other courses and showing the ability to interconnect environmental issues.

Communication skills. Students must be able to describe and summarise the different aspects underlying environmental impact assessments using specific technical language.

Learning skills. Students must be able to construct their own learning and growth path in a critical and autonomous manner, being able to use the knowledge acquired. These skills will be stimulated as far as possible by the teacher through in-depth analysis, practical examples and connections.

lectures and practical exercises

Attendance

Attendance is not compulsory for this course.

Course books

Material provided by the lecturer. Additional material will be provided during the lessons.

Assessment

The expected learning outcomes will be assessed through an oral interview, during which three macro-questions will be posed for discussion: two theoretical questions and one practical-application question. Each of the three parts of the interview will be assessed on a scale of 1 to 10 based on the following criteria: knowledge of basic concepts, degree of articulation of the answer, mastery of specific language, ability to relate elements. The exam is assessed with a mark out of 30.

Students who have registered their disability or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Education Office may request to use concept maps (for keywords) during the exam.

To do so, they must send the maps to the course lecturer two weeks before the exam session. The lecturer will check that they comply with the university guidelines and may request changes.

Disability and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students who have registered their disability certification or SLD certification with the Inclusion and Right to Study Office can request to use conceptual maps (for keywords) during exams.

To this end, it is necessary to send the maps, two weeks before the exam date, to the course instructor, who will verify their compliance with the university guidelines and may request modifications.
