Themes
The Master's Degree Program in Adapted and Preventive Physical Activity for Health trains highly qualified graduates with a professional profile capable of taking responsible and autonomous roles in the design, management, implementation, and evaluation of personalized physical activity programs aimed at maintaining or restoring an individual’s full psycho-physical well-being. The skills acquired throughout the course are intended to promote individual wellness, optimal social integration, and the prevention of pathological conditions and functional limitations that may emerge with aging.
The program prepares graduates for professional careers as kinesiologists specialized in preventive and adapted physical activity, instructors of non-competitive sports disciplines, organizers of sporting events and facilities, and teachers within vocational training systems.
To obtain the Master's Degree, students must acquire 120 ECTS credits over two years. These credits are earned through the successful completion of theoretical exams, laboratory and practical activities, and through active participation in internships.
The educational offering is structured into two curricula: Functional Re-education and Physical Activity for Prevention. The Degree Program also includes opportunities for student mobility through Erasmus Plus and Traineeship programs.

Career prospects
Objectives
The program provides students with the skills necessary to carry out professional activities with autonomy and responsibility in fitness facilities—such as gyms, swimming pools, or research centers dedicated to motor and sport sciences—or in healthcare settings under the supervision of a physician, as required by current legislation. In these contexts, individualized physical activity programs are implemented to maintain or restore full physical efficiency, with particular attention to gender-specific needs, age, individual physiological conditions, and any disabilities.
The professional profile associated with graduates of the LM-67 class is that of the Kinesiologist in Preventive and Adapted Physical Activity. Functional re-education skills are applicable within rehabilitation teams, where, under medical supervision, various professionals collaborate to assist individuals recovering from trauma and to support full functional recovery. These competencies are especially relevant in the rehabilitation of athletic movements after injuries.
The skills acquired in the area of prevention may be employed in facilities such as gyms and swimming pools, where physical exercise is used as a tool for prevention, or in situations where hypokinesia, impaired mobility, or incorrect postural habits represent risk or predisposing factors for the development of chronic conditions.
The professional figure of the adapted physical activity expert is also equipped with the necessary competencies to teach children, youth, or adults with learning difficulties or physical and mental disabilities. They may also contribute to decision-making regarding school organization, teaching methods, and educational and training offerings. Additionally, they may act as consultants, including expert witnesses, in matters related to preventive and adapted motor activity.
Graduates who have earned a sufficient number of credits in the appropriate academic subject areas may, according to current legislation, take part in admission exams for secondary education teacher training programs. Master's graduates may also apply for competitive selection to access doctoral research programs.
Furthermore, graduates may serve as professional athletic trainers, capable of managing the general and individualized physical preparation of both able-bodied and disabled athletes engaged in competitive or amateur sports.

The curriculum of the Master's Degree in Preventive and Adapted Motor Activities for Health is divided into two specializations: “Physical Activity for Prevention and Health” and “Functional Rehabilitation,” which are characterized by the following aspects:
Curriculum: Physical Activity for Prevention and Health
Graduates of the Master's Degree in this field should be able, with significant decision-making power and autonomy, to use advanced cultural, methodological, and technical-practical tools necessary for:
- Designing and implementing motor activity programs aimed at achieving, recovering, and maintaining the best conditions of psycho-physical well-being for individuals across various age groups and physical conditions, with attention to gender-specific needs.
- Organizing and planning specific activities and lifestyles that contribute to disease prevention and improving the quality of life through physical exercise.
- Programming, coordinating, and evaluating motor activities adapted for people with disabilities or individuals in clinically controlled and stabilized health conditions.
Curriculum: Functional Rehabilitation
Graduates of the Master's Degree in this field should be able, with significant decision-making power and autonomy, to use advanced cultural, methodological, and technical-practical tools necessary for:
- Designing and implementing motor activity programs aimed at achieving, recovering, and maintaining the best conditions of psycho-physical well-being for individuals across various age groups and physical conditions, with attention to gender-specific needs.
- Preventing postural issues and implementing post-rehabilitation motor recovery aimed at maintaining physical efficiency.
- Programming, coordinating, and evaluating motor activities adapted for people with disabilities or individuals in clinically controlled and stabilized health conditions.
To this end, the training activities will include front-end courses on subjects related to motor and sports sciences, biomedical areas, and socio-psychopedagogical aspects.
