Obiettivi Formativi
The course provides an introduction to some methods for the study of dynamic models in economcs, finance and social sciences, both in discrete and continous time by the methods of the qualitative theory of dynamical systems and those of game thery.
Programma
1. Review of some concepts of linear dynamical systems and linear algebra. Complex numbers, eigenvalues and eigenvectors. Linear systems of difference and differential equations. Phase diagrams, stability.
2. Nonlinear systems of difference and differential equations. Local bifurcations, steady states and limit cycles. Deterministic chaos. Coexisting attractors and basins
3. Some topics on dynamic programming.
4. Introduction to Game Theory,. diminated strategies, Nash equilibrium both in pure and mixed strategies, evolutionary games, evolutionary stability. Evolutive dynamics. Social dilemmas and conflicts.
5. Examples. Cobweb models, Nonlinear business cycle models, dynamic models of exploitation of natural resources, dynamic oligopolies, simple dynamic and evolutionary games with replicator and logit dynamics, population dynamics.

- Modalità di
accertamento Written examination
