Obiettivi Formativi
This class will overview and discuss the thoeries on money demand, the management and trasmission of the monetary policy. It will pay special care to the monetary institutions of the European Monetary Union.
Programma
I. The role and origin of money
II. Money demand and supply
III. The role of central banks and the monetary policy.

Knowledge and understanding: students will learn the functioning of the monetary market in modern economies.
Applying knowledge and understanding: students will understand and analyse the evolution of modern monetary systems and of monetary policies in the EU and the USA.
Making judgements: students will develop their critical ability to evaluate the efficacy of solutions and policies undertaken by central banks.
Communication skills: students will learn to communicate the results of their analyses by means of short reports and graphs.
Learning skills: students will apply the knowledge they acquired in previous classes and integrate them with further professional abilities that characterize this class.
